Civils Team Lead Join Our Growing Multidisciplinary Consultancy in the Southampton or Bedford office!
We are looking for an experienced Civils Team Lead to take a key role in leading and developing a civil engineering service within a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Civil Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions while helping to shape the future direction of our civil engineering offering.
As a Civils Team Lead , you will lead the delivery of highways, drainage, flood risk, infrastructure and civil engineering projects across a diverse portfolio of UK developments. Working closely with Directors and multidisciplinary project teams, you will have the autonomy to influence technical solutions, develop client relationships and drive the continued growth of the civil engineering team.
This Civils Team Lead role combines technical excellence with project management, mentoring, business development and strategic leadership. It is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, variety and the opportunity to make a lasting impact, with a clear pathway towards senior leadership within the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead civil engineering projects from feasibility and planning through to detailed design, construction support and project completion.
Prepare and review highway, access, drainage, SuDS, flood risk, levels, external works and infrastructure designs.
Identify project constraints, risks and opportunities, including flood risk, utilities, access, ground conditions, buildability and statutory authority requirements.
Manage project scope, programmes, fees, resources, quality, risk and change control across multiple commissions.
Review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and technical outputs produced by engineers and technicians.
Champion the effective use of drainage, highway, CAD and BIM software, maintaining high technical standards and consistent workflows.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Liaise with planning authorities, highway authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, water companies and the Environment Agency.
Represent the business at client meetings, site visits, design reviews and project workshops.
Support Directors with fee proposals, tenders, business development opportunities and client relationship management.
