An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Band 7 Invasive Cardiac Physiologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking cardiology team based in Preston. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional seeking to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional cardiac services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and ensuring optimal care for our client’s patients through expert clinical practice and leadership.
What will your responsibilities be :
The Invasive Cardiac Physiologist will be responsible for delivering advanced cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and device implantation. Duties include physiological monitoring, haemodynamic assessment, and intra-procedural support. The role involves working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care. Participation in quality assurance, audit activities, and the training and supervision of junior staff is expected. The post holder will also contribute to service development and maintain high standards of clinical governance.
Qualifications and Experiences:
BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent relevant qualification
RCCP or AHCS registration (or working towards)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in invasive cardiology, including independent practice in the cardiac catheter lab
Proven competence in haemodynamic monitoring and electrophysiology (if applicable)
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
