Management Accountant
£40,000 - £45,000 + bens | Full-Time, Permanent | Slough
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, global manufacturing business for a commercially focused Management Accountant to support the financial performance of the business.
This is a great opportunity to act as a business partner across a UK operation, providing accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and operational analysis to help drive efficiency, profitability and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and KPI dashboards Producing detailed manufacturing performance reports and variance analyses Analysing financial results against budgets, forecasts and operational targets Presenting financial information and recommendations to management teams Analysing production costs, labour utilisation and overhead absorption Monitoring inventory valuation and ensuring accurate accounting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies Supporting bi-annual stock counts and cycle count programmes Ensuring accurate reporting of inventory provisions, obsolete stock and slow-moving inventory Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for manufacturing operations Monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts, and recommending corrective action where required Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes Supporting internal and external audits Contributing to the development and enhancement of financial systems and reporting processes Preparing and filing UK, European entity VAT returns
What We're Looking For
Part Qualified Accountant, actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA Minimum 3-5 years of management accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing operations Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities Excellent understanding of standard costing and variance analysis Strong commercial awareness and business partnering skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to operational stakeholders Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability Strong organisational and time-management skills
