Mechanical Design Engineer position based in Sheffield, supporting the design, analysis, testing and documentation of specialist engineered products.
Client Details
My client is a well-established and highly respected engineering manufacturer based in Sheffield. They supply specialist engineered solutions to customers across the UK and international markets. Operating across a bespoke and standard range of products, they are renowned for quality, innovation and technical excellence.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen their engineering capability.
Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a close-knit technical team, taking ownership of product design, engineering calculations, technical documentation and compliance activities.
You will be responsible for:
Producing and reviewing mechanical designs, drawings and technical documentation. Carrying out engineering calculations relating to stress, load paths and component performance. Supporting product testing, inspections and compliance activities. Preparing customer-facing technical reports, certificates and documentation packs. Working with internal teams to coordinate design, manufacturing and site-based activities. Maintaining accurate engineering records and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Providing technical support for installation and commissioning projects as required.
Profile
I am looking for a degree-qualified Mechanical Design Engineer who has experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge or similar.
You will ideally possess:
Strong understanding of engineering calculations and mechanical design principles. Knowledge of materials selection, structural components and manufacturing processes. Experience working to European industry standards and engineering best practice. Excellent technical documentation and communication skills. A hands-on approach and willingness to support site-based project teams as required.
