Location: Birmingham Contract: Outside IR35 Duration: Long-term contract opportunity Hours: Full-time We are currently working with an established and growing manufacturing business based in Birmingham, who are looking to bring an experienced Manufacturing Engineer into the team on a contract basis. This will suit a candidate with exposure having worked within a busy fast paced manufacturing environment (ideally automotive), supporting production, improving processes and ensuring robust manufacturing and quality standards are maintained. The successful engineer will have strong experience across manufacturing engineering, PFMEA, quality and technical documentation, and will be comfortable in an autonomous and rewarding role. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, resolving production issues, maintaining engineering documentation and driving continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on engineering and technical support to production. Develop and improve manufacturing processes. Create, review and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans. Investigate manufacturing and quality issues and carry out root-cause analysis. Develop and maintain work instructions and manufacturing documentation. Support NPI and the introduction of new products and processes. Drive improvements in productivity, quality, efficiency and process capability. Essential Experience
Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or Production Engineer. Experience within an automotive manufacturing environment. Proven experience fulfilling PFMEA documentation Experience with root-cause analysis and structured problem solving. Strong continuous improvement mindset.
