An established and growing Yorkshire-based SME is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Manager to join its leadership team. This is not a role where you'll simply produce reports and process transactions. You'll be a trusted business partner, working closely with Directors to help drive commercial performance, strengthen financial controls and support the ongoing growth of the organisation. The Opportunity
As Senior Accounts Manager, you will take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring the smooth running of all accounting activities from transactional processing through to management accounts preparation and financial reporting. You'll be responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, providing commercial insight and ensuring the business has accurate, timely financial information to support decision-making. This is a hands-on role requiring a practical finance professional who enjoys being involved in every aspect of the accounts function whilst also contributing to the wider success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounts
Lead the day-to-day operation of the finance function. Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger activities. Produce accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports. Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare and submit VAT returns. Process monthly payroll, PAYE and pension submissions. Manage supplier payments and maintain effective cash flow controls. Oversee credit control activities and customer account management. Process import transactions and foreign currency activity. Manage customer credits, refunds and account adjustments. Maintain robust financial controls and compliance procedures.
