I'm currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading international insurance business in London.
This is a key role within the finance function, with responsibility for technical accounting, financial controls and month-end reporting, alongside the management of a small team.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results process. Managing and developing a small team of accountants. Ownership of technical accounting month-end, including premiums, claims, acquisition costs, case reserves and IBNR. Oversight of technical GL reconciliations, controls and data quality. Ensuring accurate underwriting allocations across line of business, accident year, year of account, statutory class and currency. Reconciliation across core financial systems and resolution of data issues. Supporting audit requirements and working closely with FP&A, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Regulatory Reporting. Driving improvements to month-end processes, controls and reporting. Ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this finance manager role, you'll have to have the following experience:
Strong insurance accounting experience. Proven experience owning or leading an insurance month-end US GAAP knowledge, preferably within insurance. Previous people management or team leadership experience. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
