Finance Manager Plymouth, Devon £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Our client, based in Plymouth is currently seeking a motivated Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance and is confident managing deadlines, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider business with meaningful financial information.
You don't need to be an expert in every system - experience with Xero is not essential, as training can be provided. What matters most is a strong understanding of finance processes, attention to detail and a can-do approach.
The responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day finance operations across four companies. Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including invoice processing, coding and credit control. Complete bank reconciliations, cash management, credit cards and petty cash. Prepare payment schedules for approval. Support payroll, including checking and wages journal cover. Prepare monthly management accounts, including control account checks and intercompany recharges. Produce cash flow forecasts and support budgeting. Maintain accurate and timely financial records, ensuring key deadlines are met. Undertake other reasonable duties to support the needs of the business.
The candidate:
Minimum of AAT Level 4 with 3 + years working within a similar position. Experienced in a finance/accounts role, ideally at Finance Manager level. Strong knowledge of purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations and management accounts. Highly organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities. Commercially aware with good problem-solving skills. Proactive, reliable and able to work independently. Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills. Comfortable managing finance across multiple companies.
