Working in a collaborative and commercially focused environment, you'll support the pricing of treaty and facultative reinsurance business across a diverse portfolio, providing insight and analytics that influence underwriting decisions and portfolio strategy. The Role
Perform pricing analyses for a wide range of reinsurance opportunities across multiple classes and territories. Partner closely with underwriting teams to assess new business opportunities and renewal submissions. Develop, maintain and enhance reinsurance pricing models and methodologies. Analyse portfolio performance, rate adequacy and profitability trends. Provide technical expertise and commercial insight to support underwriting decisions. Present pricing recommendations and findings to key stakeholders across the business. Support wider portfolio optimisation, capital management and strategic initiatives. Contribute to pricing research, process improvements and the development of analytical capabilities within the team. Mentor and support junior analysts, helping to foster technical development across the function.
About You
Nearly qualified, qualified or qualified-by-experience actuary. Previous experience in reinsurance pricing within the London Market, Lloyd's or wider general insurance sector. Strong understanding of treaty and/or facultative reinsurance business. Experience working with actuarial modelling techniques and large datasets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Commercially minded with the ability to balance technical analysis with practical underwriting considerations. Confident communicator who can build relationships with underwriters, brokers and senior stakeholders. Experience with tools such as R, Python, SQL or similar analytical platforms would be advantageous.
