Catastrophe Risk Analyst - Speciality Risk Insurance, Marine/Terrorism, Actuarial Analysis, Pricing, Underwriting Support, Analytics and Reporting. Contract 6-Months, Inside IR35 (Agency Payroll or Umbrella Agreement), London/Hybrid (3/2) £515-£610 p/day (Contract Rate).
We are seeking an experienced Catastrophe Risk Modelling Analyst to join a high-performing catastrophe analytics team, supporting underwriting and strategic business decision-making across a diverse insurance portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional with strong catastrophe modelling expertise to play a key role in delivering portfolio analytics, regulatory reporting, and pricing support while collaborating with both UK and international teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Underwriters, the Business Services Modelling Team (in India) the Catastrophe Regulatory Team, and the Corporate Catastrophe Solutions Team. Deliver catastrophe modelling analytics to support underwriting decisions and wider business strategy. Produce quarterly catastrophe portfolio roll-up reporting. Support underwriting teams and Business Services/Underwriting Operations (UK & India) with account pricing and exposure analysis. Prepare catastrophe reporting and regulatory analytics to meet internal and external requirements. Contribute to business planning through portfolio analysis and modelling insights. Validate catastrophe model outputs and support model testing activities. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of catastrophe exposure data and reporting.
As such we are seeking an experienced catastrophe modelling/Cat Risk Analyst/Actuary who enjoys working with complex data and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business functions. You will have a strong technical background and are comfortable translating analytical outputs into meaningful business insights.
Skills & Experience
Experience in Catastrophe Modelling / Cat Risk Modelling with a focus on account pricing, portfolio analytics, reporting, and model testing. Experience using Moody's RiskLink, Risk Modeller, AIR Touchstone, or equivalent catastrophe modelling platforms. Strong SQL skills with experience extracting and manipulating large datasets. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
