Dispensing Assistant
Location: Irvine, Ayrshire, KA12
Working Pattern: 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday 9am - 1pm
Hourly Rate: £13 per hour
Our client is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dispensing Assistant to join their team at their pharmacy in Irvine, Scotland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients accurately and efficiently.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive prescription orders and ensure all necessary information is complete and accurate. Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist, following standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines. Label and package medications appropriately, ensuring correct instructions and dosage information are provided to patients. Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and rotating stock as needed. Assist with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, processing payments, and filing paperwork. Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and efficiency. Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and customers.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience working as a Dispensing Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required. Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and regulations is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and basic computer skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to changing pharmacy practices and procedures. Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings as required.
