Our client in London is looking for a family to cook to join them on a rota basis, working 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
The role is London-based with occasional travel within Europe. The family entertain regularly – Fridays are busy with dinner parties and guests throughout the weekend, while earlier in the week is quieter and more family-focused. There are young children in the household.
This role calls for a well-rounded family-style cook: you need to be as comfortable making a brilliant cheeseburger for the children as you are producing a polished dinner party menu. The family love great food without pretension: wholesome everyday cooking and the ability to step up for more formal occasions. Fresh energy and genuine enthusiasm will count for a great deal.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily lunch and dinner for the family, including cooking for young children
- Friday Shabbat dinners and weekend entertaining
- Dinner parties and higher-end events
- Menu planning, kitchen management and stock control
- Adherence to dietary requirements
The Ideal Candidate
- Open in terms of background but some prior experience in a private household or UHNW environment preferred
- Knowledge of kosher requirements
- Equally confident with simple family food and formal entertaining
- Warm, flexible, and comfortable in a busy family home
- Happy to travel and adapt to a rotational schedule
Salary: £60k GPA (2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off)
