Managing Quantity Surveyor East Yorkshire
A well-established specialist construction business is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead and develop its commercial team within a growing project environment.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance, ensuring contractual compliance, managing risk, and supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects. You will provide guidance and challenge to commercial professionals, promote best practice, and help shape the ongoing development of commercial processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial professionals. Oversee commercial governance, reporting and contractual compliance. Manage commercial risk, variations, extensions of time and compensation events. Drive margin improvement, cash flow performance and debt management. Support business growth through effective commercial leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor position. Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT and other construction contracts. Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Background within construction, infrastructure, engineering or related sectors. Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline preferred.
