About the Company
Hays Engineering are partnering with a highly successful engineering organisation operating within a technically complex and regulated environment. Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their engineering team. This role would suit an engineer with a strong mechanical background who enjoys coordinating projects, managing technical documentation, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
The Role
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate engineering activities, manage project documentation, liaise with internal departments, and ensure projects are delivered to quality, cost and schedule requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to combine hands-on mechanical engineering knowledge with project coordination and delivery responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate mechanical engineering projects through all stages of the project lifecycle. Manage project plans, schedules and technical deliverables. Produce and maintain engineering documentation, reports and project records. Liaise with internal engineering teams, suppliers and key stakeholders. Support design reviews, risk assessments and engineering change activities. Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates. Assist with technical investigations and problem-solving activities. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering standards and regulatory frameworks. Support procurement, manufacturing and testing activities where required. Maintain project documentation and document control systems.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 4 years' engineering experience within a manufacturing, aerospace, defence or similar engineering environment. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles. Experience managing engineering projects, work packages or technical deliverables. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
