Fantastic benefits including 10% bonus, Pension, Discount of family day outs, Employee training and much more
Only 2 days in their Birminghams office
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll balance hands-on development (~70%) with technical leadership (~30%) . Working directly alongside Principal Engineers and Architects, you’ll lead complex coding tasks, solve ambiguous architectural challenges, and mentor junior/mid-level engineers—all without the admin overhead of direct line management .
What You’ll Do
Architect & Build: Design and maintain scalable, reliable cloud software (Python/Django, TypeScript) across automation tools, forecasting models, and analytics dashboards. Lead Technical Delivery: Translate business roadmaps into clear technical tasks, setting the bar for code quality, design principles, and query optimization. Elevate the Team: Conduct thorough code reviews, champion engineering best practices, and mentor growing engineers. Take End-to-End Ownership: Work with Product, QA, and DevOps to own features from design right through CI/CD pipelines to production.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Full-Stack / Backend Tech: Strong commercial experience with Python (Django preferred) and JavaScript / TypeScript . Cloud Infrastructure: Proven experience building secure, scalable solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP . Best Practices: Deep understanding of software design patterns, database schema design, and CI/CD pipelines. Technical Leadership: Experience guiding technical decisions, reviewing code, and mentoring team members.
Desirable:
Modern ecosystem tools: React, Node.js, Terraform, Celery . Strong background in database query optimization for high-data workflows.
Why Apply?
Real Purpose: Every feature you ship directly supports the UK's transition to Net Zero carbon emissions. Pure Technical Focus: Enjoy senior technical leadership, architecture, and mentoring without people-management bureaucracy. Collaborative Culture: Join a team that values curiosity, continuous learning, and shared technical ownership over ego.
