Hi, we’re Back Market. We’re here to help make tech reliable, affordable, and better than new . We're a global marketplace for refurbished devices, helping lower our collective environmental impact by providing trustworthy, affordable tech with 92% less carbon emissions than new. Yep, you read that right. Turns out refurbished tech is way better for the planet than new. In fact, With every device purchased on Back Market, our positive impact on the planet grows. From our Customer Care representatives to our software engineer, every individual at Back Market cuts the planet — and consumers — a break. Our mission is simple: to do more with what we already have. Are you ready to join us? As a HRIS Specialist, reporting to the Head of HRIS, you will own the People Team's tooling ecosystem across 17 countries — with Workday at its core, and progressively extending to the full HR tool stack (ATS, expense management, and beyond). Workday — your main playground Configure, test and document Workday across HCM, Absence, Talent, Advanced Compensation, Help and Journeys — from gathering the business need with People stakeholders to deployment and adoption Own the release management cycle: assess each Workday release, test the impacts, and turn relevant new features into concrete improvements for the business Troubleshoot workflow and system issues, run root cause analysis, and remove recurring incidents through structural fixes rather than workarounds The wider People tool stack Take ownership of HR tools currently managed outside the HRIS scope (ATS, expense management, and others): map the existing setup, understand how each team uses them, and bring them under a single, coherent governance Become the reference point for those tools: configuration, user support, vendor relationship, roadmap Challenge the stack itself — identify overlaps, gaps and tools that no longer earn their place, and build the case for what should be kept, replaced or consolidated Across the whole scope Partner with our in-house Tech teams on integration design between Workday and the rest of the ecosystem (payroll, ATS, IT provisioning, Finance) Work with our external partners to deliver projects on time and on scope — and challenge them when their answer isn't the right one Explore what automation and AI can realistically bring to our People processes (Workday Extend, AI agents), and prototype it Enable the Back Market community: documentation, training, and making our People tools something people actually want to use YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF: Must have You have 3-5 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience — this is a build role, not a functional HR one You are proficient with Workday HCM, reporting (calculated fields, advanced and matrix reports) and security configuration You have already administered at least one other HR tool end-to-end (ATS, expense management, LMS, engagement platform…) — configuration, users, vendor relationship You know how to translate a business need into a system requirement, and how to push back when the request isn't the right solution You are structured and thorough, with real discipline on data accuracy and configuration documentation in a multi-country setup You are comfortable taking over a scope that someone else used to own — with the diplomacy, the mapping work and the patience it requires You can arbitrate between competing requests from several People sub-teams, and explain a "not now" You are fluent in English, our working language Nice to have Experience running a tool migration or a vendor consolidation Experience in a fast-growing international environment French WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US ? ✌🏼 At Back Market, we’re committed to hiring and supporting diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives — it’s one of the reasons we’re such a high-scoring certified B Corp company (93.2). No matter your role and seniority level, you’ll enjoy impact-driven work with hands-on career development in an innovative, driven, and fast-paced environment — with benefits to match, like:
