Quantity Surveyor
Warrington + London Travel (2 Days)
£45,000-£55,000 + Car Allowance
A well-established construction group is strengthening its residential division and expanding the commercial team to support a growing pipeline of live residential schemes, refurbishment programmes and complex building safety projects. You will work across both North West and London sites, taking ownership of core commercial activities and supporting senior leadership with reporting, procurement and commercial governance. The role offers variety, pace and exposure to high-profile schemes, giving you the chance to build capability quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial management of projects from tender through to final account Applications and valuations including preparation and assessment of applications for payment, valuations, BoQs and cost/value reconciliations Cost control and forecasting, contributing to monthly reports covering value, cost, profit and cash flow Variation management and mitigation of cost increases Subcontractor management including assessment and agreement of monthly applications and issuing payment certificates Risk and value management to ensure best value and engineered solutions Commercial risk analysis and management across multiple schemes Contractual management with a solid understanding of JCT forms of contract Supply chain procurement including enquiries, negotiation and closing out subcontract packages Project meetings with subcontractors, clients and internal teams
What We're Looking For:
QS experience with a minimum of 3 years in a commercial construction role Refurbishment experience preferred but not essential Strong financial and commercial acumen Excellent organisational and communication skills Methodical, practical and logical approach to work Experience using document control and office management systems Strong negotiation, teamwork and stakeholder management skills High level of analytical ability and demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge Confident communicator able to assert influence when required Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
