SEMH Lecturer
Location: East London Contract: Part-time, Temporary Start: ASAP Hours: 32+ hours per week Working Pattern: Across 5 days
Are you an experienced SEMH/SEND Lecturer, specialist teacher or alternative provision professional ?
We are recruiting for a part-time temporary SEMH Lecturer working with small groups of learners with primary SEMH needs , often alongside autism, ADHD and other neurodiverse needs.
The Role
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons. Deliver English, Maths, tutorials and personal/social/study skills . Support learners with SEMH and barriers to learning. Build positive relationships with challenging or disengaged learners. Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement. Monitor and assess learner progress. Support EHCP targets and progression planning. Work closely with LSAs, pastoral teams and external professionals.
About You
Essential: Full Level 5 teaching qualification - PGCE, Cert Ed or DET. Significant experience working with SEMH/SEND learners . Experience managing challenging or disengaged behaviour. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. Experience delivering English and Maths. Understanding of EHCPs and multi-agency working. A resilient, patient and adaptable approach.
