Role Overview
A Logistics Manager is required to join our client's project team on a site-based basis in Helsinki, reporting directly to the Project Director. In this key role, you will oversee and coordinate all site logistics and material movements to guarantee efficient, safe, and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Compound & Storage Management: Direct the site compound and designated storage zones to optimise operational space, efficiency, and safety. Delivery Booking & Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and movement of material deliveries to and from the site using delivery booking systems (e.g., Datascope). Sub-contractor Liaison: Partner with sub-contractors during pre-start and progress meetings to communicate delivery schedules, access routes, and storage constraints. Traffic & Load Management: Oversee site traffic flow and enforce loading/unloading within designated zones to keep site access roads clear. Just-In-Time Operations: Drive a "just-in-time" delivery approach across all trades to minimise site congestion and streamline site operations. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise logistics operatives, maintaining strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Reporting & Tracking: Maintain accurate logs of labour allocation, delivery tracking, and logistics progress reports for senior leadership.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Background: A third-level qualification in an engineering or construction discipline is desirable, though a strong trade background with 3+ years in a similar role will be considered. Experience: Ideally 2+ years of experience in logistics or materials management on large-scale construction projects. Technical Knowledge: Strong practical understanding of load management, storage allocation, materials handling, and traffic management. Systems & Tools: Prior experience using Datascope or similar delivery management platforms is advantageous. Core Competencies: Proven team leadership, excellent organizational control, clear communication, and a strong commitment to site safety standards.
