AWS Architect – DV leading to eDV
Manchester | Hybrid
£100,000 – £120,000 + discretionary bonus + benefits
AWS Architect required for a rapidly growing UK technology business delivering cutting-edge solutions into some of the country’s most complex and security-sensitive environments. This is not a role for somebody who has simply worked with AWS. We are looking for an experienced Cloud / AWS Architect who has designed and delivered large-scale AWS environments, can sit confidently with customers and technical stakeholders, and is equally comfortable getting into the detail as they are leading architectural discussions. The company is growing rapidly, operates with very little bureaucracy and gives technically capable people genuine autonomy and influence.
Package
£100k–£120k salary Discretionary bonus Benefits package Further training and certification Flexible/hybrid working Exposure to highly complex AWS environments Significant technical autonomy and influence
What you’ll be doing
Designing and delivering secure AWS cloud environments supporting business-critical and highly sensitive workloads. Leading architectural discussions, technical workshops and design exercises. Working across both greenfield and brownfield cloud programmes. Supporting and leading large-scale AWS implementations and cloud migrations. Understanding customer requirements and translating them into pragmatic technical solutions. Working closely with engineering, security and operational teams. Reviewing and challenging cloud security approaches and architectural decisions. Helping customers shape technical roadmaps and make sensible engineering trade-offs. Building strong relationships with senior technical and operational stakeholders. Providing technical leadership across complex cloud programmes.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally bring:
Significant commercial experience designing AWS cloud architectures. Proven experience delivering large AWS implementations and/or migrations. Strong hands-on understanding of cloud infrastructure supporting critical workloads. Experience working within high-security, defence, government or similarly regulated environments. Strong understanding of AWS security architecture and cloud security principles. The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong customer-facing / consulting skills. Experience influencing technical roadmaps and challenging existing approaches where appropriate. Leadership capability and the confidence to take ownership of technical decisions. AWS certification at Associate level or above would be advantageous. Clearance: Due to the nature of the programmes involved, current Enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) clearance is essential. We will consider DV candidates willing to undergo eDV.
