Paralegal - Risk & Compliance
Location: London (Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week in the office)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Our client, a highly regarded international law firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join its Risk & Compliance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate or paralegal looking to develop specialist experience in legal risk, conflicts, client onboarding, and anti-money laundering (AML) within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Working closely with experienced Risk Advisers, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's client due diligence and conflicts processes, helping to ensure regulatory compliance while contributing to the smooth onboarding of new clients.
The Role
As a Paralegal within the Risk & Compliance team, your responsibilities will include: Conducting conflicts of interest searches and analysing conflict reports. Assisting with the identification and resolution of conflicts issues in accordance with regulatory requirements. Supporting client onboarding through due diligence and AML checks. Reviewing and verifying client and matter data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Carrying out legal and commercial research relating to conflicts and risk matters. Responding to internal queries regarding conflict searches and client acceptance procedures. Maintaining accurate records, trackers, and workflow management systems. Providing administrative and legal support across a range of risk management activities. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to deliver an efficient and high-quality service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Law degree (minimum 2:1), PGDL, CILEx qualification, or previous paralegal experience. Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team. A proactive, adaptable approach and a willingness to take ownership of your work. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience within a law firm, legal risk, compliance, AML, or conflicts team would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided. An interest in legal technology and AI-driven solutions would also be viewed favourably.
