Graduate Design Engineer - Noise & Vibration
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be hiring on behalf of a leading specialist acoustic engineering and noise control consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Graduate Design Engineer to join their growing team in Southampton.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate with an interest in engineering design, noise and vibration control, CAD and technical problem-solving to begin their career within a highly specialised and varied engineering environment.
The successful candidate will join an established business operating across acoustic consultancy, engineering design and bespoke noise control solutions.
The Role
The Graduate Design Engineer will work closely with experienced engineers and acoustic specialists, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of noise and vibration control projects.
The role will combine office-based design and draughting work with site visits, project coordination and practical engineering exposure .
Key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the design of specialist noise and vibration control solutions
Producing technical drawings and designs using CAD software
Draughting and developing engineering drawings for bespoke acoustic products and installations
Supporting the design of acoustic hardware and noise mitigation solutions
Assisting with site surveys and inspections
Supporting engineers with noise and vibration-related projects
Liaising with colleagues, contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Assisting with project management and project coordination
Developing technical calculations, specifications and design documentation
Supporting projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation
The Ideal Candidate
The client is keen to speak with ambitious graduates from an engineering-related discipline, such as:
Mechanical Engineering
Civil or Structural Engineering
Acoustic Engineering
Product Design
Manufacturing Engineering
Building Services Engineering
Or a related technical or engineering discipline
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
An interest in noise, vibration and acoustic engineering
Experience or familiarity with CAD software
Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
