About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to support the Electric Safety Delivery Programme for an end client within the Transport sector. This is initially a 7 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be an in office role based in Milton Keynes.
This role will support the Head of Engineering / Technical Services in coordinating and managing the First Funding Period (FFP) business planning activities, ensuring effective governance, stakeholder engagement, and delivery against challenging timelines. This is a highly visible role working across senior stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining continuity across evolving plans, and driving effective collaboration across multiple directorates.
Responsibilities
Coordinate planning activities and associated deliverables across the programme Manage, organise, and maintain planning documentation and records within SharePoint and other project management tools Plan, facilitate, and coordinate workshops, meetings, and planning sessions, ensuring outputs, actions, and decisions are effectively captured and communicated Track and manage queries, decisions, responses, and dependencies relating to FFP activities across multiple stakeholder groups Maintain version control and continuity of planning information as requirements, assumptions, and priorities evolve Support the development and management of the Technical Authority business plan, ensuring deadlines and governance requirements are met Monitor and manage financial information to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making activities Produce clear reporting, status updates, and progress tracking for senior stakeholders Build strong working relationships across Technical Authority teams and wider end client directorates Identify risks, issues, and planning challenges, escalating and driving resolution where required Support programme governance activities and ensure information is collated accurately and in a timely manner
About You
Proven experience as a Project Manager within a complex project environment Experience coordinating large-scale business planning or strategic planning activities Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities Experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities Excellent document management, version control, and record-keeping skills Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders and challenge constructively when required Experience managing and tracking actions, decisions, and dependencies across multiple teams Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal Experience working under tight deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment Self-sufficient and proactive approach, with the confidence to ask the right questions and drive activities forward
