Role: Litigation Executive Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid CRA Consulting is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing specialist law firm to recruit an experienced Litigation Executive to join its successful Personal Injury and Group Claims team.
The firm has built a strong reputation for representing claimants in complex, high-value and high-profile litigation , with particular expertise across Personal Injury, Medical Negligence, Consumer Claims and Group Litigation. As the team continues to expand, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional to take on a varied caseload and work alongside a highly supportive team of specialists.
This position would suit a Litigation Executive, Fee Earner or Legal Executive with solid experience in litigated claimant work who is looking to develop their technical expertise, take ownership of challenging cases and progress their career within a specialist claimant practice.
The Role
You'll manage your own caseload of litigated claimant matters , taking responsibility for files from the early stages of proceedings through to settlement or trial. The role offers exposure to a broad and interesting range of litigation, including:
Personal Injury claims. Group Litigation and collective actions. Data breach claims. Consumer disputes. Other complex claimant litigation.
You'll be responsible for progressing matters effectively and strategically, ensuring clients receive a high standard of service throughout the litigation process. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of litigated claims from inception through to resolution. Assessing liability, causation and quantum and developing appropriate case strategies. Drafting pre-action correspondence, pleadings and other legal documentation. Preparing Claim Forms, Particulars of Claim, Directions Questionnaires, Part 18 Requests and other procedural documents. Instructing and liaising with barristers, medical experts and other third parties. Reviewing expert evidence and providing clear advice to clients. Obtaining witness evidence and preparing detailed witness statements. Assessing and valuing claims, including special damages. Negotiating settlements and representing clients throughout the litigation process. Managing court deadlines and ensuring compliance with procedural directions. Assisting with trial preparation and attending hearings where required. Maintaining high standards of file management, client care and regulatory compliance.
