A leading multidisciplinary property consultancy based in Soho, London is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor as part of a significant investment into the growth of their Cost Management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established national property business and take a prominent role in the delivery and continued development of their professional Quantity Surveying service.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will work directly alongside the Cost Management Director, taking responsibility for projects across the full development lifecycle. The role will cover cost planning, procurement, commercial reporting and contract administration, while providing clients with independent and commercially focused PQS advice. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also manage key client relationships and contribute to winning and developing new business.
With the team entering an important period of expansion, this position offers an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor considerably more than project delivery alone. There will be opportunities to mentor junior colleagues, influence service standards and support the wider growth of the Cost Management offering. It would particularly suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating independently and wants greater exposure to clients, leadership and business development.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:
Leading cost planning, estimating and benchmarking across multiple commissions
Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and financial reporting
Advising clients on procurement strategy and commercial delivery
Managing valuations, change control and final accounts
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
Providing independent professional cost management advice to clients
Supporting client development and wider business growth initiatives
Mentoring and developing junior members of the Cost Management team
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a closely related construction discipline
MRICS qualified
Strong professional PQS or UK cost consultancy experience
Confident independently managing projects and client relationships
Detailed understanding of cost planning, procurement and contract administration
Commercially astute with strong written and financial reporting skills
