Senior Software Developer Location: Central London (hybrid working available) Contract: Permanent | Full-time Salary: £66,000 The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join a collaborative digital team responsible for developing and maintaining a wide range of business-critical applications, services and platforms. This role is ideal for a highly skilled developer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, mentoring others and contributing to the ongoing evolution of modern digital solutions. The Role As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing and supporting web, mobile and cloud-based applications. Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will help deliver innovative solutions while ensuring development follows industry best practice, security standards and organisational objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new applications and functionality while maintaining and enhancing existing systems
- Writing clean, efficient and testable code across front-end and back-end technologies
- Gathering requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to define technical solutions
- Supporting and mentoring junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Designing, developing and maintaining APIs and integrations with third-party systems
- Supporting cloud infrastructure and ensuring applications are secure, scalable and reliable
- Implementing development best practices including testing, version control and documentation
- Contributing to architecture decisions and recommending new technologies and approaches
- Managing and improving automated workflows and deployment processes
- Supporting user acceptance testing and ensuring high-quality software delivery
- Maintaining accurate documentation of systems, requirements and enhancements
- Working collaboratively across teams to deliver digital projects and continuous improvements
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience in software development
- Highly proficient in Python, Django, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience with database design and SQL
- Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience developing with React and/or React Native
- Experience supporting and working within AWS environments
