Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical
Salary: £42,000+ | £3,000 call-out allowance | Days | Permanent
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a growing FMCG/food manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically focused engineer who enjoys hands-on maintenance, fault-finding and keeping production equipment running efficiently.
With a minimum 70/30 mechanical bias , you'll play a key role within a team of six engineers, with excellent opportunities for training, development and progression into more senior positions.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a range of production and site equipment, including:
Conveyors and associated systems Generators Gearboxes Sprockets, chains and belts Mechanical fault-finding and repairs Welding and fabrication - highly desirable Preventative and reactive maintenance Supporting the smooth running of production equipment
About You
We're looking for someone with:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum Strong mechanical maintenance experience A minimum 70/30 mechanical/electrical skillset Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar production environment Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, belts, chains and sprockets Welding and fabrication skills would be an advantage A proactive approach and strong commitment to engineering standards
