Salary: Up to £43,000
Shift: Monday - Friday - Double Days
Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established process manufacturing business in Manchester. Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a mixture of modern and legacy plant equipment through planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on mechanical role where you will work across a varied range of process equipment, helping to improve plant reliability, resolve recurring faults and support ongoing investment across the site. The business places a strong emphasis on safety, engineering standards and development, offering excellent opportunities to expand your technical skillset.
Sector - Process Manufacturing
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Mechanically biased maintenance background. Level 3 Engineering qualification / apprenticeship (or equivalent). Previous manufacturing maintenance experience. Strong mechanical fault-finding ability.
Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Reactive breakdown maintenance. Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting. Pumps, valves and gearboxes. Agitators and actuators. Vessels and process equipment. Basic pipe fitting. Experience identifying and resolving mechanical blockages. Continuous Improvement. Strong Health & Safety awareness.
Desirable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
HNC qualification or above. Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or Power industry experience. Previous experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Continuous process manufacturing experience.
