Description:
We are currently recruiting an experienced SACT Trained Registered Nurse to work on a long-term agency assignment at the Nick Jonas Unit, Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH), Winchester .
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced nurse to work within a specialist oncology/haematology setting, supporting the delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) and providing high-quality patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients receiving SACT
- Administer systemic anti-cancer treatments in accordance with local policies and clinical guidelines
- Monitor patients before, during and after treatment
- Recognise and respond appropriately to treatment-related side effects and complications
- Undertake clinical assessments and monitor patients' conditions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Provide patient education, advice and emotional support
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures
- Ensure medicines are administered safely and in accordance with relevant policies
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Maintain professional standards and patient confidentiality
- Contribute to a safe, effective and patient-centred clinical environment
