Through internal promotion, a privately owned business is looking to add a Management Accountant to their finance team. You will report into the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for consolidating and analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing strategic information and advice to the board including monthly management and statutory accounts. In more detail, this will involve:
- Review and reconcile the General Ledger and control accounts regularly
- Prepare monthly management accounts from trial balances
- Accrual, and prepayment adjustments
- Maintain fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation including HP/FL adjustments
- Detailed variance analysis for gross margin and overheads
- Prepare reports for management (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statements)
- Update Excel reports monthly to track project costs and support business planning.
- Prepare statutory accounts for all group operating companies and liaise with auditors and external tax accountants.
- Prepare detailed cashflows
- Prepare annual group overhead budgets and analyse variances as part of Management Accounts preparation.
You will be qualified (ACA / ACCA / ACMA) with professional experience in an accounting or auditing role to oversee a company’s financial control and reporting activities. You will have strong analytical skills along with knowledge of general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, accounting standards and
compliance regulations. You will be well organised and flexible, being able to adapt to a broad range of tasks within a close-knit finance team and be confident with Excel modelling.
