The role - Design Engineer
Location - Aberdeen City Centre
Hours - Full-time - (Monday to Friday)
Salary - £33-35k depending on experience
Office Angels are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Design Engineer to join their growing team in Aberdeen.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer with a background in fire alarm and smoke ventilation systems to take ownership of multiple projects and play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you'll be responsible for developing designs from concept through to completion while liaising with customers and key project stakeholders.

The Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing your own workload across several live projects, developing system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies through to final design documentation and CAD output.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies Producing design specifications and supporting technical documentation Completing engineering calculations to validate system designs Creating and updating detailed AutoCAD drawings Maintaining accurate design status information and project records Responding to customer design queries and providing technical support Attending project handover meetings with internal stakeholders Participating in customer design meetings and design reviews Working collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful project delivery
About You
Essential Requirements
At least 1 year's industry experience in both fire alarm and AOV/smoke ventilation design Degree qualification or completion of an engineering apprenticeship Experience using AutoCAD for 2D design work Strong technical writing and communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of mechanical and natural smoke control systems Experience with car park smoke clearance systems Understanding of fire detection and alarm systems Exposure to electrical, HVAC, or building services design Knowledge of control systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), and controls theory
