Laboratory Operator / Laboratory Assistant
A leading international organisation within the specialty chemicals and fuels sector is seeking a Laboratory Operator to support its technology and laboratory teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a commercial laboratory environment, supporting sample preparation, testing, laboratory operations and logistics while working within a strong safety-focused culture.
Responsibilities
Support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory. Assist with blending, preparation and handling of laboratory samples. Conduct routine analytical testing and record results accurately. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organisation and stock control. Manage the storage, movement and shipment of samples to internal and external destinations. Keep accurate electronic records using laboratory and inventory management systems. Support waste disposal procedures and general laboratory housekeeping. Communicate effectively with colleagues across technical teams. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory operations. Adhere to quality standards, SOPs and health & safety procedures at all times.
Ideal Background
Scientific University Degree (or equivalent) qualification (Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Biochemistry or related discipline) preferred. Previous laboratory experience, whether through industry, university, placements or internships. Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working as part of a team with minimal supervision
