Quantity Surveyor (Highways & Civils Framework)
Location: Crawley / Central London (Hybrid)
Rate: £400 - £450 per day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 - 6 Months+
Project Overview
We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a major contractor on a newly awarded 4-year capital upgrade framework at Crawley. The multi-million-pound framework covers both landside and airside civil engineering and structural building schemes, including pavement renewals, utility diversions, and terminal enhancements.
In this role, you will initially oversee commercial delivery for 2 to 3 landside road schemes valued between £300k and £500k each. The projects are currently in the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) / design phase and will be delivered primarily under NEC Option E (Cost Reimbursable) and NEC Option A (Target Contract) forms.
Key Responsibilities
ECI & Pre-Construction Commercials: Price works, build target costs, and establish baseline budgets during the early design phase in preparation for site delivery.
Contract Administration: Manage applications for payment, variations, compensation events, and cost tracking under NEC Option E and Option A contracts.
Procurement & Commercial Control: Oversee subcontractor procurement, conduct on-site intrusive surveys, and track daily cost outputs to safeguard project margins.
Cost Reporting: Maintain detailed cost-to-complete forecasts and ensure full alignment between site activities and commercial reporting.
Requirements
Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (BSc / HND).
Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within highways, civils, or major infrastructure frameworks.
NEC Expertise: Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (specifically Option E and Option A forms).
Site & ECI Exposure: Comfortable conducting on-site surveys, pricing works from design through to construction, and managing payment applications.
Working Pattern & Logistics
Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (Standard day shift).
Split Location: 2-3 days on-site at Crawley, 2-3 days at the Central London office . Potential for hybrid working flexibility for the right candidate.
