Media Lecturer
Location: Durham Contract: Temporary, ongoing Hours: Approx. 9 hours per week Employer: The Supply Register (on behalf of New College Durham)
We are currently recruiting a Media Lecturer to support New College Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced media professionals or qualified lecturers looking to inspire the next generation of creative talent.
The Role
As a Media Lecturer , you will deliver engaging lessons and support learners in developing the practical skills, creative techniques, and industry knowledge required for careers within the media sector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Media lessons across a range of levels
- Supporting learners with practical media production projects and assessments
- Preparing students for higher education, apprenticeships, and careers within the creative industries
- Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and professional standards
What We're Looking For
- Relevant industry experience within Media, Film, Television, Digital Content, or a related field
- Level 3 qualification in Media or a related subject (degree desirable)
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of current media production techniques and industry trends
- Experience within Further Education or apprenticeship delivery (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
