Job Title: Specialty Doctor – Adult Psychiatry Grade: Specialty Doctor Location: Sheffield, Yorkshire Working Hours: 40 hours per week
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and committed Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry to join our client’s mental health service in Sheffield, Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established team, providing expert psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs. The role is available on a locum basis with an immediate start and offers competitive rates.
What will your responsibilities be?
As a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients within community and inpatient settings. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, and manage mental health conditions, contribute to care planning, and support recovery-focused treatment. You will also participate in clinical meetings, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures. The role requires a strong understanding of mental health legislation and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to team-based care.

Qualifications and Experiences:
Full GMC registration – essential
Section 12 approval – required
Approved Clinician status – required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in psychiatry
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Commitment to patient-centred care and service improvement
