Alexander Daniels Finance is partnering with a successful and fast-growing business in Birmingham to recruit a Finance Manager . This is a brilliant opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys full ownership of the finance and client accounting function.
You'll be the go-to financial lead for the business, overseeing all client money activity, reporting, reconciliations, VAT, payment runs, arrears management and financial controls across a busy residential property portfolio. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy variety, autonomy and responsibility, this role offers exactly that.
The Role
Managing client and business accounting processes end-to-end Maintaining accurate tenant and landlord ledgers Allocating rent payments and resolving discrepancies Reconciling rents, fees and property-related expenditure Preparing landlord payments, tenant refunds and contractor payments Running client payment cycles and maintaining strong audit trails Responding to finance queries from landlords, tenants and suppliers Producing financial forecasts, management reports and performance insights Monitoring financial performance and reporting to senior management Completing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with client money regulations Conducting daily credit control and proactively reducing arrears Producing regular arrears reports and managing collection activity Processing contractor, supplier, insurance and utility invoices Ensuring accurate coding and timely settlement of liabilities Supporting the wider property management team with financial queries Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen controls
What You'll Bring
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT and credit control Experience managing client money accounts and ledgers Confident producing financial reports and forecasts Excellent Excel and financial systems skills High accuracy, organisation and attention to detail Strong communication skills with confidence dealing with landlords and tenants Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function Experience in property management, knowledge of client accounting software, or AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualifications.
