We are currently seeking a highly skilled and professional Site Engineer to join a major highway infrastructure project in Penrith, Cumbria. This initiative involves the development of a dual carriageway, with a specific focus on complex earthworks and drainage infrastructure for the A66 scheme. Due to project requirements, we are looking for candidates who are available to start immediately.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee site operations, managing both direct labour and subcontracted teams. Execute precise setting out, conduct dimensional checks, and maintain rigorous survey records. Perform quality assurance tasks, including compaction testing and volume take-offs. Develop essential documentation, including Works Package Plans, risk assessments, and method statements. Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site. Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff while maintaining accurate daily site diaries.
Qualifications
Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. 2-3 years of experience as a Site Engineer with a Tier 1 contractor, specifically in highways. Valid UK driving licence, CSCS card, and SSSTS or SMSTS certification. Advanced technical ability in reading engineering drawings and managing site logistics.
