We are looking for multiple experienced, motivated, and skilled professionals to join a growing engineering consultancy delivering innovative design solutions across a wide range of construction sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced temporary works engineer to join a collaborative team working on diverse and technically challenging projects in Maidstone.
About the Role
As a temporary works engineer , you will play a key role in delivering safe, practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions for construction projects throughout the UK and internationally. Applicants should have at least three years of experience in a design-focused engineering role, with a strong understanding of temporary works design and BS 5975.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad portfolio of projects while contributing to innovative engineering solutions in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality temporary works designs for a variety of construction projects. Produce clear engineering calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation. Plan, design, and coordinate temporary works using industry-standard software and engineering principles. Carry out site visits, inspections, and surveys to develop safe and practical engineering solutions. Provide technical support to colleagues and clients while managing multiple projects to demanding deadlines. Continue developing technical knowledge and remain up to date with current industry standards and best practice. Promote a strong safety culture by applying the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015). Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to the development of the wider team.
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution. A minimum of three years' experience in a design-based engineering role. Strong knowledge of temporary works design principles and BS 5975. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in 2D AutoCAD. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, sections, and general arrangements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong IT and technical software skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers. Knowledge of 3D modelling or drafting software. Experience in permanent works civil or structural engineering. Previous experience as a temporary works engineer on a variety of construction projects. A proactive and collaborative approach with the ambition to develop into a senior temporary works engineer .
