Full Stack Software Engineer
Hybrid role in Newcastle Upon Tyne
The Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Full Stack Software Engineer to join a team building and evolving a high-performance, real-time trading platform used globally.
This is an opportunity to work on technically complex systems where performance, reliability and scalability are critical. You’ll contribute across both backend and frontend development, working closely with Product, Operations and QA to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll also have the opportunity to explore and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, automation and modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, secure and high-performance systems for a real-time trading platform. Build and maintain backend applications using C#/.NET. Contribute to modern frontend development using technologies such as React and TypeScript. Optimise system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Work with high-availability and real-time systems where reliability is critical. Collaborate closely with Product, Operations and QA teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Contribute to Agile development processes, including sprint planning and CI/CD pipelines. Participate in code reviews and champion high standards of engineering quality. Respond to critical production and system incidents, helping identify and implement long-term solutions. Explore new technologies, automation opportunities and engineering best practices. Utilise AI-assisted tools and capabilities to improve development efficiency, automation and productivity.
What We're Looking For
4+ years of commercial experience with C#/.NET. Strong understanding of multithreading and parallel programming. 2+ years of experience with modern JavaScript development, including React and TypeScript. Experience with modern frontend tooling such as Webpack or Vite. Experience using profiling and performance optimisation tools. An understanding of scalable, high-performance software systems. Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Comfortable working in fast-paced and technically demanding environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable Experience
Experience working with high-availability or real-time systems. Previous exposure to financial services, trading platforms or similar performance-critical environments. Experience or interest in AI-assisted development tooling. Exposure to automation, scripting or AI-driven monitoring capabilities.
