Data Engineer £54-59,000 + bonus Hybrid Working – 1 day on-site per week West Midlands based
I'm recruiting for a Data Engineer to join an established data team, working on the development and improvement across Azure and Databricks.
The role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, integrating data from a range of systems and transforming it into reliable, analytics-ready datasets. You'll work across the full engineering lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation through to data modelling, optimisation and supporting data solutions.
You'll be working with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, SQL and Python/PySpark.
Key responsibilities:
Build and enhance data pipelines across Azure and Databricks Develop ETL/ELT solutions to integrate data from multiple business systems and sources Transform and model data for use across analytics and reporting Support the ongoing development of the organisation's Data Lake and wider cloud data environment Troubleshoot pipeline and data issues, improving performance and reliability Help maintain strong standards around data quality, governance and security Work closely with Data, BI and the business to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions Contribute to engineering standards, documentation and the ongoing development of the platform
Key experience:
Experience with Azure Databricks Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Analytics Azure Data Lake Storage SQL and Python Understanding of data warehousing and ETL principles Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
