Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant who enjoys turning financial information into meaningful insight?
Beam Recruit is supporting an impressive, third-generation family business with the appointment of a Management Accountant.
Established, stable and forward-thinking, the company is continuing to grow while retaining the supportive culture and strong values of a family-run business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation.
The role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of management accounting and reporting activities, producing accurate financial information that supports effective commercial decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting reporting packs Producing accruals, prepayments and payroll journals Completing balance sheet reconciliations Analysing overheads, revenue, margins and business performance Supporting costing activities and providing commercial financial insight Investigating variances and clearly communicating your findings Preparing information for banking and other external reporting requirements Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning Assisting with VAT returns and CIS reporting Working closely with operational and senior stakeholders Supporting year-end processes and external audits Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve financial processes Providing wider support to the Head of Finance and finance team when required
The role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to develop strong relationships across the business, influence decision-making and improve the quality of financial information.
What we’re looking for
Ideally, you will be CIMA or ACCA qualified. However, we are also open to hearing from:
Qualified-by-experience Management Accountants Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA candidates Candidates who have previously studied towards a professional qualification but decided not to complete it
You will also bring:
Previous experience producing management accounts Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations Experience analysing revenue, costs, overheads and variances Strong Excel and general systems skills The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues Confidence working with stakeholders at different levels A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
