Carnegie Group is creating a new Business Development Manager role to help drive our next stage of growth across the South East.
This is a hands-on role focused on identifying opportunities, building relationships and opening doors with developers, architects, consultants and clients. We're not looking for a hard salesperson, but someone who is proactive, commercially aware and enjoys connecting with people.
Working closely with our Co-Founders and wider team, you'll help develop new business opportunities, strengthen our network and grow our pipeline. As this is a new role, you'll have the opportunity to shape your own approach and make a visible impact on the business.
The Role
You will identify and engage prospective clients through:
Cold calling LinkedIn outreach Email campaigns Networking and industry events Referrals and introductions Re-engaging previous customers Developing existing pipeline opportunities
Your focus will be on building long-term relationships and generating opportunities that align with Carnegie's expertise and growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Research and identify new prospects across the South East. Build targeted prospect lists using Glenigan, LinkedIn, planning data and industry intelligence. Develop relationships with developers, architects, consultants and other key stakeholders. Qualify and nurture opportunities through the sales pipeline. Reconnect with previous customers and follow up referrals. Maintain accurate records in Zoho CRM.
Networking & Relationship Building
Represent Carnegie at industry events and networking functions. Build and maintain a strong professional network. Support the organisation of client and networking events. Develop relationships that generate referrals and future opportunities.
Marketing & Pipeline Support
Work alongside our marketing team and agency to support campaigns and content. Identify projects, people and success stories that support business development activity. Manage and develop the sales pipeline within Zoho CRM. Support tender coordination and maintain tender library information.
About You
You are a confident relationship builder who enjoys meeting people and creating opportunities.
You'll ideally have:
Experience in B2B business development, sales or relationship management. Confidence with cold calling, LinkedIn and email outreach. Strong organisation and pipeline management skills. A proactive, resilient and self-motivated approach. Experience in construction, property or related sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.
