Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join a Children's Residential Care Home in M21, Manchester .
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional to support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care while ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role, supporting staff development, maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home. Lead, mentor and supervise Residential Support Workers and Senior Staff. Ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding and wellbeing. Implement and review care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans. Support staff recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies. Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and other professionals. Manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Requirements
Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Care Home. Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and Ofsted regulations. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential). Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it) is desirable. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Full UK driving licence preferred.
