- Actuarial Valuation Manager | New Business and Transformation A leading global life reinsurer is seeking a qualified actuary to join its newly established global Valuation team in a broad and influential management role.
This is not a traditional reporting focused valuation position. The successful candidate will lead key aspects of new business modelling and treaty implementation, manage a team and help determine how new business is embedded across the organisation. They will also play an important role in improving controls, modernising processes and shaping future actuarial model development. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical actuarial work with people leadership, stakeholder management and genuine business transformation. The Role The Actuarial Valuation Manager will:
- Lead and develop a sub team within the global New Business Valuation function
- Manage the implementation of new treaties across multiple products, regions and lines of business
- Take a leading role in addressing a backlog of historical treaty implementations
- Build effective relationships with Pricing, Operations, Corporate Actuarial and front office teams
- Improve the processes, controls and governance surrounding new business implementation
- Help embed deliverables from a major actuarial transformation programme
- Specify model requirements and coordinate the testing of future model developments
- Support the continued development of global assumptions management and implementation frameworks
- Coordinate activity across multiple locations and time zones while helping to build a positive, high performing team
The Candidate They are looking for:
- A qualified actuary with at least three years of relevant life insurance or life reinsurance experience
- Experience managing, coaching or developing actuarial colleagues
- A strong understanding of Corporate Actuarial, valuation or financial reporting processes
- Experience using actuarial modelling software, with Tyche experience particularly advantageous
- A track record of improving processes, controls or systems
- The ability to manage change and introduce new ways of working
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge existing approaches
- A pragmatic and commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance accuracy, risk and delivery
