Business Analyst - Cards
Location: UK (Hybrid) - Edinburgh preferred, but could be London or Manchester
Sector: Retail Banking
Contract: 6 Months (initial)
Day rate: Competitive (inside IR35)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Cards domain knowledge to support a range of strategic and regulatory change initiatives within our Retail Banking function. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to deliver enhancements across debit card, credit card, and payments products.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, document, and validate business requirements for Cards-related projects. Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across Operations, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Technology. Analyse current and future-state processes, identifying opportunities for improvement. Produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, process maps, and functional specifications. Support end-to-end project delivery, including testing, implementation, and business readiness activities. Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and card scheme standards.
Required Experience
Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Retail Banking. Strong knowledge of Cards products, including Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Card Issuing, Acquiring, Authorisation, Clearing and Settlement. Experience working on Cards platform migrations, product launches, or digital transformation programmes. Strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills. Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard schemes. Exposure to mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay) and digital payments.
