Our Client Mackie Myers are partnering with a globally recognised and well-established organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant. We are looking to appoint a technically strong, newly qualified accountant with IFRS 16 experience to support financial reporting, lease accounting and statutory compliance. The Role You'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance across the organisation's lease portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking to build on their technical accounting experience within a collaborative and flexible environment. Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of lease accounting under IFRS 16, including the calculation of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities. Prepare monthly journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules relating to lease accounting. Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and support the external audit process. Ensure new leases, modifications and terminations are accurately reflected within the financial statements. Maintain accurate lease data and work closely with operational teams to ensure compliance. Support technical accounting projects and improvements to financial controls and reporting processes. Contribute to wider finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
The Successful Candidate
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Newly qualified or up to two years' post-qualified experience. Proven hands-on experience of IFRS 16 lease accounting is essential. Strong understanding of financial reporting and statutory accounting. Excellent Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience of lease accounting software would be advantageous. Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
