Intermediate Electrical Engineer Location: Central London Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home) Project Sectors: High-End Residential, Commercial, Mixed-Use, Health & Leisure Our client is looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their growing Building Services' consultancy team. The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of projects, including high-end residential developments, commercial schemes, mixed-use projects, and health and leisure facilities.You will be responsible for the production of electrical building services designs, including calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and schedules. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support projects from concept through to completion, carrying out electrical load calculations, containment sizing, equipment sizing, circuit protection analysis, lighting and power design, fire alarm systems, and low-carbon technology assessments.The role will involve regular collaboration with architects, contractors, utility providers, and external consultants to coordinate designs and resolve technical issues. You will also attend project meetings and site visits to ensure designs are delivered in accordance with the project brief, Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to take the next step in their career, gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, and work towards professional chartership within a supportive environment that actively invests in training and development. Key Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience in Electrical Building Services design. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, IES, or similar. Understanding of electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarms, containment, and life safety systems. Knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards, CIBSE guidance, and sustainable design principles. Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
3 Key Screening Points
Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Responsibility: Produce electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical schedules using AutoCAD and Revit. Responsibility: Support project delivery from concept through to completion, coordinating with design teams, contractors, and clients.
