Geotechnical Engineer
Glasgow £35,000 - £45,000
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Glasgow team. You'll work across a range of infrastructure, development and environmental projects, collaborating with engineers and specialists across the wider business.
The role will involve a mix of geotechnical design, ground investigation and site-based work, with the opportunity to develop your technical experience across a varied project portfolio.
The Role
Geotechnical design for foundations, retaining structures and earthworks Ground investigation planning, supervision and interpretation Geotechnical reporting and assessment of ground conditions Slope stability and settlement analysis Earthworks and remediation assessments Site inspections and ground investigation supervision Preparation of technical specifications and calculations Liaising with civil, structural, environmental and other engineering disciplines Supporting the delivery of projects from feasibility through to detailed design
Requirements
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related subject Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy or similar environment Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant standards Experience undertaking geotechnical analysis and design Strong technical report writing and communication skills Experience with software such as PLAXIS, GEO5, WALLAP or similar would be beneficial Full UK driving licence
Chartered status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous, but applications are welcomed from engineers at different stages of their career.
