Registered Manager – Children’s Residential
Location: Leicester
Salary: £43,000 – £50,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage a children's residential home in Leicester.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home , ensuring children and young people receive safe, high-quality and individualised care.
You will lead and develop the care team, maintain strong safeguarding standards and ensure the home remains compliant with relevant legislation and Ofsted requirements .
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operation of the children's residential home. Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and child protection . Manage, supervise and develop the residential care team. Act as a positive role model for staff and children. Ensure children's physical, emotional and developmental needs are met. Oversee care plans, education plans and risk assessments . Maintain safe staffing levels in line with children's individual needs. Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015 . Follow safeguarding legislation, local authority procedures and organisational policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections. Work effectively with social workers, education professionals, families and other external agencies. Manage budgets, resources and staffing effectively.
About You
You will have:
Previous experience working in children's residential care . Experience in a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior management role . Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding . Experience managing and developing care teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organisational and leadership abilities. Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations. Experience with performance management, conflict resolution and budgets . A child-centred and compassionate approach.
Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- or willingness to work towards.
Designated Safeguarding Lead Level 3 . Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check and meet all registration requirements.
