The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for delivering critical sub-systems from external suppliers into a complex defence system. These sub-systems incorporate high-power optical technologies alongside sophisticated electro-optical and mechanical assemblies which form part of a larger integrated capability.
Reporting to a Chief Systems Engineer, the role will focus on supplier management, technical acceptance, integration, assembly and testing activities. Previous experience of delivering and integrating complex sub-systems would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of electro-optical, mechanical or high-technology engineering systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing technical and programme interfaces with external suppliers. Supporting the acceptance, delivery and integration of critical sub-systems into the wider system architecture. Coordinating functional integration activities across multiple engineering disciplines. Contributing to ongoing capability development and technology maturation initiatives. Supporting system assembly, integration, verification and testing activities.
What We're Looking For
We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience in:
Managing third-party suppliers and defining technical statements of work and deliverables. Building strong stakeholder relationships across engineering, project and supplier teams. Leading technical work packages and balancing technical risks, cost and schedule considerations. Supporting complex system integration and delivery activities within a multidisciplinary environment. Working within systems engineering frameworks throughout the project lifecycle.
